Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Coordinator to join our volunteer team at AIM. In this role, you will oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management to ensure the organization’s financial health and compliance. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance, accounting, or nonprofit management who is passionate about supporting community-focused initiatives.

Time Commitment: 6-10 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee AIM’s annual budget, working closely with program directors and staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funding sources.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial operations.
  • Grant Management: Research and identify potential grant opportunities; assist in the preparation of grant proposals and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including income, expenses, and grants received. Ensure all financial documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance AIM’s financial management practices and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support fundraising efforts, including monitoring and reporting on fundraising activities and outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in finance, accounting, or financial management, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with nonprofit financial practices, including compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and management processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
