Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and strategic Fundraising and Development Coordinators to join our volunteer team. In this role, you will develop and implement fundraising strategies, manage donor relations, and identify grant opportunities to support the financial sustainability of AIM. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development to contribute their skills and help drive AIM’s mission forward.
Time Commitment: 6-10 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with AIM leadership to develop and implement fundraising strategies that align with the organization’s mission and goals. Explore and recommend innovative approaches to increase revenue through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and community fundraising campaigns.
- Donor Relations Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring effective communication, timely acknowledgment of contributions, and regular updates on AIM’s progress and impact.
- Grant Research and Writing: Identify and research grant opportunities that align with AIM’s programming and initiatives. Develop compelling grant proposals, manage grant applications, and track reporting deadlines.
- Event Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and activities, including donor appreciation events, community fundraisers, and special programming initiatives.
- Database Management and Reporting: Maintain an organized database of donor and grant information, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Generate reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and financial outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to create fundraising materials, promotional content, and donor communications. Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors and stakeholders on fundraising progress and goals.
- Outreach and Community Engagement: Engage with local businesses, foundations, and community members to explore sponsorship opportunities and build collaborative partnerships that support AIM’s growth and development.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and initiatives, providing recommendations for improvements and identifying new opportunities for development.
Required Experience:
- Experience in fundraising, development, or grant writing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization’s mission and impact to potential donors and partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Recommended Experience:
- Background in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, or development.
- Previous involvement in community-based organizations, public media, or arts and culture nonprofits.
- Familiarity with fundraising software, CRM systems, or grant management tools.
