Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and creative Programming Director to volunteer with our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing programming schedules for both radio and TV, ensuring that AIM offers a diverse range of high-quality content. You will work closely with producers, show hosts, and community members to curate engaging and relevant programming that reflects the interests and values of our audience.
Time Commitment: 8-12 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee programming schedules for radio and television, ensuring a balanced and diverse array of content.
- Collaborate with radio and TV producers, show hosts, and community partners to curate high-quality content.
- Monitor programming quality and ensure compliance with all FCC regulations and Public, Educational, and Government (PEG) television requirements.
- Review and approve new program proposals, providing guidance and feedback to content creators as needed.
- Assist with content acquisition and provide support for live broadcasts and special programming events.
- Stay current with media and broadcasting trends to ensure AIM’s programming remains fresh and relevant.
Required Experience:
- Experience in media programming, content creation, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse community members and content creators.
Recommended Experience:
- Familiarity with FCC regulations and PEG television requirements.
- Previous involvement in community media, radio, or television production.
- Background in media management or broadcasting operations.
