Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC), a nonprofit affordable housing developer, believes Housing + Education = Success. We provide education programs for K-12 youth to broaden horizons, build self-confidence and open doors. Our programs right in students' communities really work - for more than 10 years, ALL of our high school students have graduated and nearly all have gone to college - the first in their families to reach that milestone.
Volunteers are key to AHC's education program's success! As Teen Program Tutors & Mentors and Brain Time Helpers for elementary school students, volunteers work one-on-one or with small groups of students on homework, study skills and life skills.
We ask volunteers to commit to helping once a week in-person at one of our 7 Arlington locations. Hours are typically Monday - Thursday sometime between 4-8pm.
