AFAC supports nearly 4,000 families each week, and each April the Arlington Area Recovery Initiative (AARI) works to reach as many community members as possible with lifesaving information and resources. Volunteers help share simple overdose‑prevention strategies, offer quick Narcan trainings with free kits, and connect neighbors to local harm‑reduction services.
Last year volunteers contributed 175 volunteer hours and helped distribute nearly 400 boxes of Narcan—a powerful reminder of how much this work truly matters.
Our greatest need is for bilingual (English/Spanish) volunteers. You will be paired with an experienced AARI volunteer and provide the valuable service of interpretation for our Spanish‑speaking neighbors, helping ensure everyone has access to critical health information.
