Holiday Magic is True Ground Housing's annual community event that brings together residents, staff, and volunteers to celebrate the season of giving. Through gift wrapping, creative crafts, festive treats, and holiday fun, we aim to create a warm, welcoming space filled with joy and connection for all ages.

Set Up 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM assistance is needed to help staff unload van of supplies needed for the day, organize and sort gifts, set up different community rooms, set up decorations. Volunteers should be comfortable walking around, crouching, pushing, pulling and lifting items up to 15 lbs and working with other volunteers.
Gift Wrappers 9:00 AM - 1:15 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:15 PM are needed to assist staff in wrapping any gifts that parents request to be wrapped on site at the event. Volunteer can be sitting or standing and should be comfortable working with other volunteers.
Starlight Shoppers 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM and 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM are needed to assist children attending the event to pick out gifts for a special adult in their life. Volunteers can be sitting or standing and should be comfortable working with children and other volunteers.
Arts & Crafts station 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM and 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM needs volunteers to assist families with guidance, handing out materials, and providing feedback with the different activity options at the arts and craft stations. Volunteers can be sitting or standing and should be comfortable working with other volunteers and families.
Check In volunteers 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM and 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM are needed to assist staff in signing in families as they arrive to the event. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred; volunteers can be sitting or standing and should be comfortable working with a laptop and families.
Food & Snacks 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM and 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM assistance is needed from volunteers to hand out different options depending on resident choice and staff guidance. Volunteers can be sitting or standing and should be comfortable working with other volunteers and families.
Drinks station 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM and 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM assistance is needed from volunteers to make hot chocolate as ordered by residents and hand out other drink options depending on resident preference. Volunteers should be comfortable working with other volunteers and families.
Santa Helper 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM and 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM is needed to assist staff with taking pictures for families on the residents phone or a staff phone and also ensure that Santa has everything he needs such as water, restroom breaks and assistance getting around the room. Volunteer should be comfortable working with families and standing for a long period of time.
Break Down 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM assistance is needed to help staff load the van with materials that were used for the day and leftover, organize and sort any remaining gifts if applicable, cleaning and setting the community rooms according to staff guidance. Volunteers should be comfortable walking around, crouching, pushing, pulling and lifting items up to 15 lbs and working with other volunteers.
