This fundraising event, which furthers The Arc of Northern Virginia's vital programs, services, and advocacy for people with disabilities of all ages and their families, will be successful because of YOUR support. Together, we are "Going The Distance for People with Disabilities!"
Job Descriptions
- Site set-up volunteers: Set up volunteer stations, tents, signage and banners before the event starts.
- Parking lot volunteers: Direct traffic to available parking and welcome and direct participants to the event location
- Course volunteers: Keep runners and walkers on the course and make sure they are safe from traffic during the race. Some will staff the mid-course water station.
- Finish line and water station volunteers: Ensure runners finish through the timing gates and that walkers and other participants do not interfere with runners finishing the race. Hand water bottles to runners as they finish.
- Cheerleading squad volunteers: Cheer on participants along the course.
- Site clean-up volunteers: Take down signs and banners, disassemble tents and help with general cleanup of the event space including putting supplies into vehicles.
