Wild Virginia is looking for new board members!!
At Wild Virginia, we are committed to inclusiveness. We are actively seeking candidates for board positions who bring ethnic, cultural, racial and/or gender diversity, as well as a range of thought, backgrounds, skills, experiences and expertise.

We are a small and growing organization committed to conservation through advocacy and the empowerment of communities. Our board is active and engaged in making Wild Virginia stronger and more effective every day. We seek diverse board members who will provide valuable skills and serve as participatory assets to our organization. If this sounds like the place for you, we hope you’ll join us!
The Board Member shall perform the usual duties of this office:
- Attend all board meetings (every other month).
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to set goals for the organization and assess the organization’s performance in achieving its mission.
- Participate in committee work (i.e. philanthropy; development; diversity, equity, and inclusion).
- Assist with monitoring financial reports to ensure the organization has adequate resources to achieve its mission.
- Act as an enthusiastic champion for Wild Virginia across diverse communities by volunteering at outreach events.
- Support diversity, equity and inclusion by helping us bridge the “nature gap” and eliminate disparities in access to nature and nature- based knowledge.
- Actively assist with fundraising efforts and support annual fundraising with his or her own financial contributions.
- Assist with the evaluation of the performance of the Executive Director.
- We are a small non-profit organization seeking to make positive change, and to do so this means that every member of our board actively supports the organization in the ways detailed above.
You will be asked to serve a term of three years.
