Description

Purpose: Assist REEP’s ESL teachers fulfill the mission of teaching lifeskills English that is needed to live and work in the U.S.
Duties: Assist teachers in the classroom and/or computer lab.
Model natural language for students.
Provide students with the opportunity to practice English.
Work with small groups of students or individuals on specific tasks as
requested by the teacher.

Qualifications: Fluency in English. Ability to speak well and articulate in English.
Interest in working with adult learners of English.
Willingness to work with students from different cultural, educational,
and economic backgrounds.
Willingness to accept teacher’s guidance on working with ESL students.
Cross-cultural sensitivity.
Flexibility and patience necessary.

Time Commitment: One class period (morning, afternoon, or evening) per week, three-month commitment required.

Locations: Syphax Education Center – 2110 Washington Blvd.
M, T, W, TH, F – 9:00am to 12:00pm
M, T, W, TH – 6:45pm to 9:00pm
T & TH – 1pm to 3pm
Arlington Mill Community Center – 909 S. Dinwiddie St.
M, T, W, TH – 6:30pm to 8:45pm
