During the Covid-19 pandemic the author is forced to take a break from her all-consuming job. She moves to her country home where she discovers a seemingly abandoned baby hare and grapples with how to care for her without robbing her of her wild nature.
The book beautifully describes the relationship that develops between the hare and human and it becomes clear that the baby hare is not the only being that was saved by their companionship.
