Hello Arlington!
Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School has planted a fruit orchard of 31 fruit trees and berry bushes around our campus. We've planted plums, pears, apples, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, service berries, figs, gooseberries, and paw paws! Some have even started to produce fruit!
They are all busy sending out new roots into our native clay soil. As they do that, they need your help with regular watering. It takes up to two hours to water all 31 trees and bushes. Either bring friends and family to speed it up, or enjoy the quiet relaxation as you do it solo.
Volunteers are asked to water between 9am to 2pm. Check in at the front office to let them know you are going to be watering. More details and sign up is in the link below.
