We are looking for volunteers to help us as we plant our orchard at Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School.
We'll be planting around 20 fruit trees and 10 berry shrubs. That means we'll need to dig 30 holes, drive a bunch of t-posts, and install lots of deer-proof fencing. A bit of a tall order for a bunch of PreK - 5th graders.
We need volunteers that are able to dig holes, drive t posts, install fencing, move a mountain of mulch, nibble from the snack table, and make a lasting impact in our community.
Please bring, if possible:
- shovels, spades, hole-post diggers, and digging bars
- hand cart or dolly
- gloves
- elbow grease
- wire cutters and lineman's pliers
- t post drivers (if you bring one of these you get a gold star)
- items to add to our snack table
Thank you,
