Join Wild Virginia on Monday, April 14th at 7pm for a discussion of Fen, Bog, and Swamp: A Short History of Peatland Destruction and Its Role in the Climate Crisis by Annie Proulx. Peatlands cover less than 3% of the earth's surface yet play critical roles in carbon storage, water filtration and flood mitigation. This book addresses the consequences of our historical and current lack of appreciation and protection for these unique ecosystems.
