Who We Are

Mission Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT) empowers and uplifts first-generation Latina students by providing mentorship, leadership development, academic support, and opportunities that prepare them to succeed in school, career, and community. Vision We envision a future where every Latina has the confidence, skills, and resources to achieve her fullest potential, lead with purpose, and create positive change in her community and beyond. History Founded over 20 years ago in Arlington, VA, Latinas Leading Tomorrow was created to address the unique challenges faced by first-generation Latina students. What began as a small community effort has grown into a thriving nonprofit serving over 220 students annually through free mentorship, leadership training, academic preparation, and culturally empowering programming. Our programs include after school programs at six middle and high schools in Arlington County and two summer programs: LLT STEMpower for middle school girls and ELITE Leadership Academy for high school girls. In 2025, LLT expanded beyond Northern Virginia into Prince George’s County, MD, launching programs in four Title I high schools. Through partnerships with schools, volunteers, and corporate sponsors, LLT continues to build a strong pipeline of future Latina leaders who are breaking barriers and shaping tomorrow.

What We Do

At Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT), we accomplish our mission of empowering first-generation Latina students through a range of programs and activities designed to build confidence, leadership skills, and pathways to success. Our Work Includes: Mentorship Programs – Connecting students with Latina professionals who provide guidance, encouragement, and career exploration opportunities. Leadership Development – Workshops, retreats, and ambassador opportunities that strengthen public speaking, advocacy, and teamwork skills. Academic & Career Readiness – College prep, financial literacy sessions, and exposure to careers in fields where Latinas are underrepresented, including STEM. Community Engagement – Volunteer opportunities, service projects, and partnerships that foster a sense of responsibility, belonging, and civic leadership. Cultural Empowerment – Programs that celebrate Latina heritage, identity, and resilience, ensuring students feel seen and supported as they pursue their goals. Through these initiatives, LLT equips young Latinas with the tools, networks, and confidence they need to thrive in school, career, and community leadership.
