The SOFEI Group

The SOFEI Group is a nonprofit organization that empowers women experiencing situational poverty throughout the Washington Metropolitan Region to emerge from economic instability through education, training, and development. We help women take control of their education, career, business, and finances to lead to their pathway of economic independence and stability for themselves and their families.

History

The SOFEI Group was established in 1999 to support women experiencing situational poverty due to life-changing circumstances such as divorce, job loss, illness, caregiving, or domestic violence. With a commitment to empowering women to rise above these challenges, we have been providing career, entrepreneurial, and financial education for over two decades. Our programs have helped women gain the necessary skills to secure sustainable employment, start and grow businesses, and achieve financial independence.

We offer a comprehensive twelve-step plan designed to foster economic growth and self-sufficiency. Our services include career assessments for women reentering the workforce or transitioning careers, professional and workforce development training, business development programs for aspiring entrepreneurs, and IT certification training for those seeking opportunities in the tech industry. As a Microsoft and IC³ authorized testing center, we provide certifications and online training through SOFEIOnline, ensuring our clients have the skills to succeed in today's workforce or their business.
