Volunteer: Oakridge Elementary School Walking Bus - Bus DriversThe Oakridge Elementary School Walking Bus Initiative offers a rewarding volunteer opportunity for community members passionate about promoting a safe and active lifestyle for children. As a volunteer you will guide groups of students to school on foot, fostering a fun, healthy, and eco-friendly way to start the day. No prior experience is needed - comprehensive training is provided to ensure you are confident in your role, and background checks are conducted to maintain a safe environment for all. High-visibility vests are supplied to keep you and the children visible during walks. Join us to make a positive impact, build community connections, and encourage kids to embrace an active lifestyle! During the last school year, 2024-2025, the bus service was conducted once a week on Mondays; however, we would like to expand the service, and to do so, we require more volunteers.
