If you are interested in this opportunity, please go to https://portal.wildliferescueleague.org/volunteer_questionnaire/ and submit the questionnaire. You must be 18 years of age for this volunteer position and live in Northern Virginia or surrounding counties.

Wildlife Rescue League (WRL) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Northern Virginia whose mission is to support the rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife and, through education, to foster appreciation of our wild neighbors. WRL dispatches volunteer wildlife transporters daily to transport contained wildlife from veterinary clinics, wildlife rehabilitators, and animal control officers to locations for care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized volunteer to serve as chairperson for our Wildlife Transport Committee. Responsibilities include providing transporter training to strengthen transporter performance and knowledge; and ensuring all transporter shifts are staffed, transport data entered on an online workbook, and transport procedures followed. The Transport Committee Chair also should be available to provide advice and support to transport volunteers. The estimated time commitment is 8-10 hours per week.

Each chairperson works with the Board of Directors to establish annual goals, and leads a team of volunteers to achieve them. The committee chair is a working position, performed on a volunteer basis without compensation, and is for a two-year term. The ideal candidate will have project management skills, expertise with spreadsheets and other Google documents, and an appreciation for wildlife.

Please go to the following location to complete your volunteer application: Volunteer Questionnaire. Our volunteer coordinator will respond shortly. Look for responses in your email inbox or spam folder.

Wildlife Rescue League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Northern Virginia and surrounding counties, whose mission is to support the rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife and, through education, to foster the appreciation of our wild neighbors.

If you are interested in working with sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, and have a lot of free time to care for wildlife in the spring, summer, and fall, this position is for you!
