Description

The Department of Human Services works with a number of advisory groups, boards, and commissions to ensure services meet community needs. Residents can apply for membership to these groups through the County website

Community Services Board -- provides guidance related to mental health, substance use, and disability services programs.

Commission on Aging -- aims to enhance the quality of life for older Arlingtonians by ensuring all planning and County activities address their specific needs.

Social Services Advisory Board -- provides input on policy issues related to public assistance and social services programs and serves as a resource for the County Board on behalf of residents of Arlington County in identifying and addressing social services needs throughout the community.

Food Security Coalition -- oversees the implementation of the Food Security Strategic Plan that was developed in 2022 and serves as a meeting point to coordinate, collaborate and share information about food security activities occurring in the county.

Homelessness Continuum of Care -- The CoC is governed by a number of boards and committee that guide and support implementation of local priorities, resource allocation, and the implementation of its strategic plan.
