Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative and organized Public Service Announcement (PSA) Coordinator to join our volunteer team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation, scheduling, and distribution of PSAs for both radio and television. You will work closely with local community organizations to produce PSAs that promote local events, services, and initiatives, ensuring that these messages reach the right audience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in media production or communications who is passionate about using media as a tool for community outreach and engagement.
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
- PSA Production and Coordination: Oversee the production of PSAs for radio and TV, working with community organizations to gather content and ensure messaging aligns with AIM’s mission and programming standards.
- Scheduling and Distribution: Manage the scheduling and placement of PSAs within AIM’s programming schedule for both radio and TV to ensure timely and effective dissemination of information.
- Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, community groups, and service organizations to encourage the submission and creation of PSAs that promote their services and events.
- Content Development: Provide guidance and support to community organizations in the creation of high-quality PSA content. Assist with scriptwriting, audio and video production, and editing as needed.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Review PSA submissions to ensure they meet technical quality standards and comply with FCC regulations and station guidelines. Make necessary adjustments or provide feedback to organizations to enhance the quality and impact of their messages.
- Promotion and Outreach: Promote the availability of PSA production services to community organizations and develop outreach strategies to increase participation and collaboration.
- Database Management and Reporting: Maintain a database of PSA submissions, schedules, and participating organizations. Prepare reports on PSA programming and impact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support Special Projects: Collaborate with AIM staff and volunteers to support special projects, such as seasonal campaigns, emergency service announcements, and other community-driven programming initiatives.
Required Experience:
- Experience in media production, communications, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse community members and organizations.
Recommended Experience:
- Background in community outreach, media relations, or video production.
- Previous experience working with community organizations or nonprofits.
- Familiarity with video and audio editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Audition.
