Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Training Coordinator to join our volunteer team. In this role, you will develop and deliver training programs to support volunteers, community members, and aspiring media professionals in radio, television, and digital media production. This position is ideal for someone passionate about teaching, media production, and community empowerment who wants to share their expertise and inspire others to create meaningful content.

Time Commitment: 6-10 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Training Programs: Design and implement training modules for radio, television, and digital media production, including topics such as camera operation, audio engineering, content creation, digital editing, and broadcasting techniques.
  • Conduct Workshops and Training Sessions: Lead in-person and virtual workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching for volunteers and community members to enhance their technical skills and confidence in media production.
  • Curriculum Development: Create comprehensive training materials, guides, and handouts that support different learning styles and skill levels, ensuring accessibility and clarity.
  • Volunteer Support and Mentorship: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to volunteers, guiding them through the production process and helping them apply learned skills to real-world projects.
  • Training Evaluation and Feedback: Gather feedback from participants to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement. Update and revise training materials as needed based on participant feedback and technological advancements.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the Programming Directors, Production Manager, and Technical Director to align training programs with AIM’s technical standards and programming needs.
  • Outreach and Recruitment: Promote training programs to the local community, educational institutions, and other organizations to attract new participants and expand the reach of AIM’s educational offerings.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with media production tools, software, and techniques to ensure training programs reflect current best practices and industry standards.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in media production, training, or education with a focus on radio, television, or digital media.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Ability to work with diverse learners and adapt teaching methods to various skill levels.

Recommended Experience:

  • Previous experience developing and delivering training programs or workshops in a community or educational setting.
  • Background in community media, public access television, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with media production software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Pro Tools, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
