Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Radio Programming Coordinator to join our team. In this volunteer role, you will be responsible for managing the radio content schedule, working closely with radio show hosts, and ensuring compliance with FCC regulations. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for radio and community media to shape the sound and content of our station.
Time Commitment: 6-10 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day radio content scheduling to ensure balanced programming and seamless transitions.
- Coordinate with radio show hosts to facilitate the submission of show content and provide guidance on programming standards.
- Monitor radio programming for quality assurance and compliance with FCC regulations and station guidelines.
- Review new show proposals and work with producers to integrate new content into the programming schedule.
- Assist in maintaining a programming database and tracking show performance and listener feedback.
- Support the station's mission by promoting diverse and inclusive programming that reflects the community’s voices and interests.
Required Experience:
- Experience in radio production, programming, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and community radio standards.
Recommended Experience:
- Previous involvement in community radio or Low-Power FM (LPFM) stations.
- Background in media scheduling, content coordination, or broadcasting.
- Ability to work with volunteers and producers of varying experience levels.
