Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to serve as the Executive Director. This volunteer position will play a pivotal role in overseeing AIM’s overall operations, driving strategic planning, and coordinating volunteer activities to support the growth and sustainability of our organization.
Time Commitment: 15 - 20 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction of AIM, working closely with the Board of Directors to achieve organizational goals.
- Manage and support a team of dedicated volunteers across various departments, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts, cultivating a positive and inclusive volunteer culture.
- Develop and implement organizational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Engage in strategic planning and fundraising efforts to support AIM’s programming and long-term sustainability.
- Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for AIM, strengthening community partnerships and representing the organization at public events.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in nonprofit management, media, or related fields.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of volunteers, community partners, and board members.
Recommended Experience:
- Previous involvement in community media, fundraising, or board leadership.
- Knowledge of media production, public access television, or low-power FM radio operations is a plus.
