Join us for Volunteer Arlington’s 8th Annual MLK Day of Service. A variety of service projects to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place at Washington-Liberty High School (W-L) and at other locations around Arlington.
Browse the opportunities below and find your place to serve. Many opportunities are family-friendly and noted in the description. Anyone 13 and over needs to create an account to register. Adults may add up to 2 children per registration for those that welcome children.
Schedule
on Saturday, January 18, 2025:
8:30 a.m.: Check in, volunteer fair, and photo booth
opportunities begin at Washington-Liberty
High School (enter through door #1 on the N. Stafford St. side of the
building). The first 750 people to check in will receive a free MLK Day
of Service t-shirt.
9:00 a.m.: Opening program at Washington-Liberty High School and the
presentation of the 2025 Beloved Community Award
9:30 a.m.: Transition time to projects and travel to off-site locations
(if necessary)
9:45 a.m.: Projects begin at Volunteer Arlington site (W-L)
10:00 a.m.: Projects begin at off-site locations and for virtual projects
12:00 p.m.: Projects conclude, time may vary
Parking at Washington-Liberty High School: Parking is available on the street and in the I-66 parking garage located beside Washington-Liberty.
Those
who register for events will hear directly from their volunteer coordinator no
later than Thursday, January 16.

Help us bring joy and greenery to Culpepper Garden!
Join us in beautifying our senior community with a fun day of gardening. We will provide gloves and shovels, but volunteers are more than welcome to bring material that they have at home in the case that we run out of supplies. This opportunity is family friendly; anyone that can clean-up or plant is welcome!
