As a DC Food Rescue volunteer, you'll pick up surplus food from local businesses and deliver it to nearby organizations that serve people experiencing food insecurity. We serve Arlington and most of NoVA, as well as the District and parts of Maryland.
You can do rescues by bike or car, and they typically take about an hour from pick-up to drop-off.
Rescues are available seven days a week, mostly between 8 AM and 5 PM; so you can volunteer whenever it fits your schedule.
