The county board liaison serves as the local connection between Arlington FSS and one of Arlington County’s five board members. The liaison helps the organization stay informed about county transportation safety issues, fosters positive relationships with elected officials and staff, and supports local advocacy efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor local communications: Review newsletters, meeting agendas, and announcements from your assigned board member to identify relevant transportation, safety, and infrastructure updates.
- Engage with local officials and staff: Build and maintain constructive relationships with board staff, attend public meetings when possible, and represent Arlington FSS.
- Support advocacy initiatives: Collaborate with Arlington FSS leadership and fellow liaisons to advance campaigns for safer street design, pedestrian and cyclist protection, and community education.
