Volunteer: Fun in the Sun - Volunteer at Summer Camp in Arlington! 28 Service Hours/Week

Calling all teens! AHC is seeking energetic, outgoing, responsible volunteers to help out at SUMMER CAMP 2026!

Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC), an affordable housing provider with holistic resident services, will be holding fun, enriching, educational summer camps for elementary school students. We rely on volunteers, who are mostly high school students, to sustain our programs. Volunteers will assist staff with outdoor activities, indoor educational lessons, snack time, field trips, pool days and more. Volunteers will be able to read, play, and build relationships with students, and can develop and lead activities. Volunteers must be age 14+.

Camps run Monday - Thursday, 9:30am - 4:30pm, for 6 weeks from July 6th - August 13th. 

A volunteer shift is ONE WEEK (Monday-Thursday). Volunteers may serve for 1-6 weeks throughout the summer. One week of volunteering completes almost 30 service hours!

A large, sturdy, reusable tote bag with a square or rectangle base is ideal. For purposes of hygiene and dignity, we ask that all items are new, unopened and unused. We understand the list below is long, and assembling welcome bags can get expensive. If cost is a barrier, you are welcome to choose some or most items on the list to include in your bags. We will also gladly accept any extras from your project, as we can distribute them to residents in need. Thank you!
