Support the Resident Services with our annual holiday party located in one of our properties near the Ballston neighborhood in Arlington, VA.

This is a program led by staff; volunteers can assist with:

-Set Up & Sign In 4:30-5:30 PM (Help set up tables, chairs, event supplies such as food and decorations. Once event starts help checking in families on a clipboard or laptop. This may involve walking around, crouching, lifting or pulling/pushing up to 10 lbs. Volunteer should be comfortable working with others including children)

-Event Floater 5:30-7:30 PM (Help with other activities and snacks such as arts and crafts, food, snacks and drinks based on staff guidance. Must be comfortable working with others including families with children)

-Break Down 7:00-8:00 PM (Help staff put away tables, chairs, bring down decorations and clean/organize the spaces used during the event. May involve walking around, lifting or pulling/pushing up to 10 lbs)

Volunteers are invited to bring family or friends, please let us know when you receive your confirmation email.

This may involve walking around, crouching, lifting or pulling/pushing up to 10 lbs. Volunteer should be comfortable working with others including children)

-Cookie Station 4:55-6:30 PM (Help give children participating guidance on how to decorate their own Christmas cookies with supplies available including sugar cookies, icing and frosting. Volunteer must be comfortable working with children)

-Drinks Station 5:00-6:30 PM (Help provide drink choice to families in attendance including water, juice, or hot chocolate. Volunteer should be comfortable working with hot beverages and working around others including children)

-Event Floater 5:05-6:30 PM (Help with other activities and snacks such as arts and crafts and pizza based on staff guidance.)

-Break Down 6:15-7:15 PM (Help staff put away tables, chairs, bring down decorations and clean/organize the spaces used during the event. May involve walking around, lifting or pulling/pushing up to 10 lbs)

Hello!

Thank you for your interst in volunteering with us. We are opening a new Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) distribution site for the Westover Community. We would love to have volunteers assist with this weekly distribution. Our volunteers need to be 16 years old or over or if the person is under 16 they must be supervised by an adult/guardian.

Time of distribution for the community: 3:30pm-5:00pm

Volunteer time: 3:00pm-5:30pm. (time given for setup and breakdown)

-Assist with restocking (includes standing, reaching overhead, crouching, and lifting up to 15 lbs)

-Floater (includes assisting residents while they shop, and cleaning/organizing as needed)

Volunteers are invited to bring family or friends, please let us know when you receive your confirmation email.

Please wear closed toed shoes and wear comfortable clothing.
