Opportunities From: Volunteer Arlington

Help older adults and adults with disabilities with household tasks, such as: de-cluttering, organizing, taking items to donation sites, changing light bulbs, sorting mail/paperwork, yardwork (e.g.- mowing, weed-pulling, leaf-raking), and more. Especially needed in the Falls Church, Annandale, and Alexandria regions.

Flexible schedule, on weekdays or weekends!
Do you have a few hours to spare per month? Bimonthly?

Simply fill out the registration application, attend a 1-hour orientation and complete a background check and driving record check, and you can make a big difference for someone in our community.

Several older adults are waiting for friendly social visitors in Falls Church, Annandale, and Alexandria especially. Do you have one hour per week to visit someone? Create a new, meaningful connection.

You can make a meaningful difference in the life of someone in your community.

Do you have a passion or skill that you'd like to share with older adults? A wide variety of volunteer roles are needed throughout Fairfax County Senior Centers. Including, but not limited to fitness, dance, art, crafts, pottery, music, languages, and more. Entertainers are needed, too. Would you like to help an isolated older adult by driving them to get groceries, or going to the store for them? 

Alternatively, if interested, a volunteer may be needed to help set up an online grocery store delivery/pick-up order, and do the pick-up, if necessary. There are various options to make a big difference! Volunteers do NOT pay for groceries.

The timeframe is flexible, approx. 2 hours/every other week.
Needed throughout Fairfax County, but especially in the Alexandria, Falls Church, and Annandale regions.
