Blue Ridge Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM) is Virginia’s first Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA). Covering 12 counties and 3.6 million acres, Blue Ridge PRISM provides education, outreach, and training for land stewards, community groups, students, HOAs, and volunteers across the Commonwealth.
Bio: Lauren's work with invasive plants began a decade ago as a volunteer with Conservación Patagónica, helping restore Patagonia National Park. In the U.S., she has volunteered extensively in invasive plant removal on public and private lands. She holds an MBA from UVA’s Darden School of Business and contributed to the 2021 Virginia Invasive Species Working Group. Lauren launched the Stop Home Depot from Selling Invasive Plants petition and the #JustSayNo @HomeDepot campaign. An avid hiker and gardener, she developed an invasive plant ID web app and founded and owns Beloved Brook Natives, a local ecotype native plant nursery in Greene County, VA, where she lives with her two English Shepherd rescues.
