Comunidad

Comunidad is a community-based nonprofit organization founded on the belief that when individuals are equipped to lead, their communities can thrive. Our vision is to see individuals and their communities thrive, and our mission is to equip and engage locally rooted community leaders. Founded by Maralee Gutierrez 2018, Comunidad began in the Willston community of Seven Corners by partnering with local residents already leading and serving their neighbors. Guided by values rooted in love, belonging, and community partnership, we work alongside children, families, volunteers, and local organizations to strengthen leadership and empower local communities.

Comunidad advances its mission of equipping and engaging locally rooted community leaders through educational, wellness, and community-based programs that help individuals and families thrive. Our programs include elementary literacy coaching, teen mentoring and summer camps, English and computer literacy classes for adults, and support for basic needs through initiatives such as our monthly food distribution program. By building relationships and creating opportunities for learning, leadership, and connection, we work toward our vision of thriving individuals and communities.
