Who We Are

BH&IA is the leading authority advancing Black ownership, investment, and innovation in boutique and independent hospitality. We open doors to capital, collaboration, and industry equity. Our member-driven platform connects hotel executives, developers, and aligned partners to strategic opportunities through curated investment pipelines, thought leadership, and visibility within a growing $8B segment. With a mission to grow and scale majority-Black-owned hotels and resorts to $8 billion in revenue by 2060, BH&IA bridges the gap between independent brands and the broader industry—bringing fresh perspectives, partnership potential, and long-term value to the hospitality ecosystem.

What We Do

BH&IA advances its mission through charitable programs that increase majority-Black ownership and long-term asset growth in the independent hotel and resort sector. At the center of this work is the Hoteliers Grant Fund and Program, a charitable initiative providing non-dilutive financial support to hotel entrepreneurs. Beyond grant capital, the program delivers structured support through workshops, investment-readiness preparation, operational strengthening, strategic growth planning, and access to curated industry relationships. This programmatic model is designed not simply to fund businesses but to stabilize, scale, and position hotel entrepreneurs for sustainable revenue growth and generational asset creation. Through ecosystem-building, thought leadership, and equity-centered industry engagement, BH&IA bridges the capital and visibility gap that has historically limited ownership representation. Our charitable work builds durable infrastructure — enabling independent hotel owners to compete, grow, and contribute meaningfully to an $8B ownership vision by 2060
