Who We Are

The Chris Atwood Foundation is a HYBRID Recovery Community Organization. We provide both harm reduction and recovery support services. The Chris Atwood Foundation’s mission is to save lives, support recovery and defeat the stigma of substance use disorder The CAF’s vision is to foster communities where substance use disorder is recognized as a preventable and treatable disease so that people who suffer from it can experience the love, understanding, and support needed to live full lives in recovery.

What We Do

The Chris Atwood Foundation began in 2013 after the Atwood family lost their son and brother, Chris, to an accidental fatal opioid overdose. He passed away at age 21, following a 6-year battle with addiction. He was a bright and caring soul and The CAF seeks to carry on his helping spirit. We do this through: - Educating the community about the disease of addiction - Creating recovery ready communities - Training the community on how to administer naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose - Providing free life saving naloxone - Providing low-barrier harm reduction resources and recovery support - Providing Recovery Housing Scholarships - Providing free Peer Recovery Support Specialists for individuals - Providing Family Support Services and resources - Advocating for legislative and policy changes that promote equitable access to life saving measures and support
