Who We Are

Our mission is to provide and serve our clients with resources, education, enrichment and economic opportunities. We do this for the disadvantaged and underserved, primarily serving and mentoring low-income, at-risk youth and families. We work with community partners and provide them with project/program management and support, fundraising events, technical skills and grant writing. Our programs and activities include the following: • Community Learning afterschool programs and camps that build collaborations through resources and education for those we serve with opportunities, apprenticeships, classes, workshops and retreats. • Transitional Housing for disadvantaged groups of Single Parents, Seniors, Ex-Offenders and Youth to support and enrich them. • Community Gardens and Farming to “Teach Men to Fish and Farm for a Living” to become self-sufficient. • Mobile Food and Concession Stands to provide opportunities for employment and income for economic development and our programs and partner needs. • Preserving the history in communities and engaging residents to learn more about how they can enrich their lives and their communities, by understanding their past.

What We Do

The Community Association of Resources for Education, Enrichment & Economics (CARE), Inc. was established in 1996 as a charitable program educating and enriching the lives of those we serve. Most of our participants are underserved minorities. We focus on parents that are low income or are challenged as single parents who may be working two or more jobs to make ends meet. We encourage parental engagement and promote community engagement and volunteering. We work with an an association of partners who help us to deliver programs that includes the following: • Afterschool Enrichment Clubs & Activities • Community After School Academy (CASA) • Summer Basket, ETc. • College Prep • Mentoring • Garden for the Community • Green Valley Farmers Market • Learn to Earn • Gardening Apprenticeship Program (DAP) • Green Valley Community Enterprises • Community Partnerships for Engagement CARE began with a focus on teenage pregnancy prevention. We created the Summer BAsic SKills, ETc. (BASKET) Program as a camp to meet parent needs. Our camps have remained affordable and conveniently located, in areas serving the underserved. We enrich the lives of those we serve with Education and Economically.
